In Your Opinion Who Is The Most Disrespected race in America?

Blacks clearly -- the result of centuries of legal discrimination. It's hard to stamp these things out of the culture, although progress has been made since the 1950's.

Native Americans (a.k.a. "Indians") are always perceived as drunks, addicts, homeless, poor, thieves, etc. the list goes on.
Not only in America - but the entire North America. As soon as the Mayflower landed in North America 500+ years ago - assimilation, segregation and racism has taken over.

I feel that the Aboriginal people of North America would have, could have and should have done just fine without all of the technology and inventions of today - which I might add is the reason there is global warming, poverty, greed and a big 'ol hole in the ozone layer! African americans probably would also have been better off without the interference (cultural genocide) of the Europeans. Our world is so messed up because of technology.

I side with Kagura in that only in the past couple of years have the history books told the complete and honest truth.

African Americans.

Those who are big on dissing people based on race are (statistically) not smart enough to tell the difference between "browns" (middle eastern, latino, north african), but they are pretty sure when a person has black skin. So the easiest target for thier vile stupidity is anyone with black skin. We should all think hard about that, 'cuz most policemen are not the brightest bulbs, but are in a position to make people's lives hell. Unfortunately many of them are racist too.

Of course you know I'm going to say blacks. But the most highly disrespected, is black females in that category. Every question on Yahoo Answers revolve around disrespecting black women(by black men and other races) we are soooo hated. Pity.
Side note to Bully.. "Those are what White historians put in the books. We are just now learning about black contributions to the sciences, and Engineering because of the pissy racist people in America who distort the truth.

The Blacks as they have been for a lot of centuries now. No amount of reforms such as EEOC, welfare systems, suffrage rights, etc have really help. The overall opinion and regard of blacks still need to be adjusted. They
have been politically oppressed and racially discriminated. They deserved some respect and better consideration and shouldn't be regraded as this downtrodden race on the face of the earth. I hope the intention of your question is valid and not just some ploy to incite anger and further racisms.

White people, of course. Whites can't have things like "National White History Month" or "National Association for the Advancement of White People", where blacks can celebrate things like "National Black History Month" or NAACP. If the whites did this, it would be considered racist and Jesse Jackson and others would be up in arms. But it's OK for the blacks to do it.

Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. was a brilliant and most respected man and he was pushing for "equality" in the races, not one better than the other. I'm for equality, meaning if you can do it, I can do it, without repercussions or being called a racist.

Sorry, these are my feelings on this subject. Any thoughts or discussion?

Blacks--they face the most entrenched long-term institutional racisim.

Middle-Easterners are on the receiving end of what will hopefully be a temporary backlash (like that against the Nisei at the start of WW2).

Hispanics of all kinds are the victims of prejudice, but they also have the numbers which equals political muscle.

The white male, we have to litsen to whining from gyno-Americans(women), African americans that have never been to africa, and any other goup of two or more people that decides they arent getting a fair shake, I mean whites only invented and discovered everythng or it they didnt they furthered it by quantum leaps. I feel really bad for African Americans and Latinos. It seems like Cops mostly suspect them in the scene of the crime.

After that I'd say middle eastern people like me, because of 9/11.
