That is a tough question. You could and probably seek assistance through your HR department or direct supervisor. One of these can mediate a discussion you should had directly with that individual. Otherwise, you will need to ignore and just do your job. Last option would be to fine a different job.

Kindly confront them and express to them that you do not like the way things are going. Tell them you aren't sure what it is you've done, but if they could please explain it to you. Most of the times, if you haven't done anything and they're talking crap...they're jealous. Maybe they're jealous of your looks, clothing style, or that you're a more efficient worker than they are. If it continues you should go to HR and tell them you tried to rectify the situation yourself but that didn't work. Just remain the better person and don't talk bad about them. Good luck!

Do you've supervisory ability? in case you capture them slamming someone, you should tell them how unprofessional it really is. you could refuse to play their interest, which it appears like you're doing. you recognize, they're quite probable jealous of alternative individuals, and that doesn't opt to electrify you. I surely have some sympathy for them, although, in the journey that they ought to stay there all day and also you're taking off tremendous chunks of the day. i do not position self assurance in that variety of elitism. which isn't your fault, yet i'd say if there is no longer adequate paintings to maintain you on the place of work, it really is no longer quite that responsible.

Confront the coworker directly. It's easy to talk behind someone's back. That's why they won't face you. Confront him/her with your knowledge of his/her actions and I bet they'll be singing a different tune from then on.

Schedule a meeting with this coworker and your manager.
That way you will hear directly and so will your manager, what this person's issues are.
This will probably surprise them and it will make you look pro active to your boss, you are willing to address problems and solve them instead of beating around the bush and accomplishing nothing.

Confront him or her directly. Say if it doesn't stop, you will go to the boss. And if that doesn't take care of it, you will seek an attorney. That should do it.
