2. It is a virtually infinite source of information at one's fingertips (for example, if you don't know what "boon" means, you can find out in about 30 seconds by accessing a web dictionary.)
(Of course, as with every other invention, there are downsides to the Internet, as well - porn, terrorist networks, misinformation, etc.)
