I never believe them because I have never been polled and don't know anyone who has.

My cynical mind believes the numbers are made up to sway public opinion. How about you?

I share your cynicism about polls - the question(s) can be worded in such a way as to predetermine the outcome.
And nope, I haven't been polled.

You're a conspiracy nut.

Polls aren't made up but they do have to be understood for what they are - a measure of how a random selection of the population SAY they will vote when asked a pollster.

I was polled once after voting at a church for the presidential elections. First and only time. I do not take them seriously either.
