Believe what you want...but there is good science showing that the world took considerably longer than 7 days...just because you believe in a higher being (I do) doesn't mean you have to be ignorant in regards to science. Science explains how things occur, religion attempts to explain the why....many scientists believe in God.... as Einstein said:
"Science without religion is lame. Religion without science is blind."

Your religous beliefs and your scientific beliefs are both wrong.

First, the bible does not say that the world was created in seven days. Biblical scholars such as Arthur W. Pink in his book "Gleanings in Genesis" point out that the word "was" in Gen. 1:2 should be translated "became," and that between the first two verses of Genesis 1 some terrible catastrophe must have intervened....if the surmises of geologists could be conclusively established there would be no conflict at all between the finding of science and the teaching of Scripture.

Furthermore, if you check any Bible concordance, you will see that the word "day" In Genesis should have been translated "heptad," a group of seven time periods of unknown duration.

As for evolution; why don't you pick up a October 2006 issue of Scientific American and read "Darwin on the Right" by Michael Shermer on page 38. He says "Because the theory of evolution provides a scientific foundation for the core values shared by most Christians and conservatives, it should be embraced.

One does not "believe" in evolution. You can accept it or not. Faith is not a factor in evolution. The theory has been tested and evidence has been gathered for decades.

You say God can create all of the matter in the universe, all of the living creatures and geological features on earth, all of the stars, nebulae, galaxies, etc. in 7 days but cannot stop chariots of iron... This seems conflicting to me.

Hmmm. Let's see. Either the world was created in 7 days by someone or something that no one has ever seen. Or we evolved in millions of years and have scientific evidence to prove it. Why do you want to make Christians look stupid?

I'm assuming you believe in the literal translation of the bible, which would make the world around 6,000 to 10,000 years old. This means that you don't accept even the most basic of science. This is a ridiculous way to get your knowledge of the world. But if that is what you want to do, go for it.

The great thing about science is that there are evidence to the facts presented. If some poeple decide to completely ignore that, or they are unable to understand it, believing in fairy tales is the option for them.

You can still believe in evolution and be a christian. Remember that science tries to explain what is happening, while religion tries to explain why.

No, I don't "believe" in it. Evolution is a scientific theory. Let's leave "beliefs" to the religious.

Better question. Why is evolution such a threat to people with the Christian faith?
