Does one need to check the rest of the scrotum for abnormailities or just the testicles?

It's the whole area... And it should be checked after a hot/warm shower in order to have the scotum hanging low.

You only need to check the testicles - through the scrotum. There is no need to take them out. Two points for ambition, though.
