I recently got this sharp little PC case that has a metallitc blue and *silver colored* front bezel on the front. However, somebody swapped the original CD drive and replaced it with an ugly beige unit which spoils the whole front piece of the PC.
I asked a local PC vendor about selling me a silver colored drive (the faceplate), but he said that all CD drives come in only two colors - beige/white and black! I hoping that he's totally wrong. BTW, I've noticed that this silver coating is on so much OEM electronic stuff. Basically, it's just a kind of paint to make the plastic parts appear to be metallic. Someone help me find silver colored CD drives so that I can prove this guy wrong and the finishing touch to my PC case.

This is about all I could find. It is an ASUS CDROM drive that is listed as being silver. Now, not knowing exactly what your case looks like I have not idea if this looks the same of if the lettering on the front it a turn-off for you, but its the best I could find.

Last case scenario is to do just what you suggest. Go and find a nice model airplane paint that matches your case color and paint the front bezel of your existing CDROM to match your case. A lot of modders do just that and the results look good if you apply the paint correctly. If the ASUS CDROM fits your needs then all the better.

BTW - Newegg has some of the best prices on the Internet. Man I should get paid some advertising dues or something.
