I would say it's true for people. Not just men or women.
People change their minds all the time, but men just make an issue out of it when women do. So men invent phrases about women and their habits that they don't understand, or have a hard time adjusting to. Just like women do with men, it's a way to poke fun at and laugh over the problems the two genders have with each other.

I would say that's more like men. Not being sexist, but they do contradict more than women. I would say both find contrast in things though.
