The teacher just talks and we take notes. On top of things, all of his notes are online so i print them out before class. So in class I don't take notes because I already have them. I've tried going to bed early, taking naps before class, eating breakfast, etc. Its all so boring, is this what college is like?

I just graduated college and I've had this problem many times. A lot of professors are really boring. What I did is I sat right in the front row of class, dead center in front of the professor. That way, its harder to fall asleep since you are right in front of the professor and if you did fall asleep it would be noticed and you may get called out so you would be more likely to stay awake. Try to bring some coffee or chocolate or something to help keep you awake too.

Good luck!

Some classes yes. Accept the fact that you have to take some boring classes to get through it. As long as you can show up, take any quizzes, tests, and turn in any assigned papers ontime, why worry about it. Just sleep in class. Find a nice spot at the back of the room so you have a wall to rest your head on and go for it.

Nope; that's what the undergrad work is like. You have to get through it to get to the interesting stuff.

I wouldn't rely strictly on the prof's lecture notes, though. Sometimes they elaborate more in class (with information they only hand out in lecture), and sometimes it's info that's vital in an exam or lab. You can't get it if you fall asleep.

If you're having trouble staying awake, bring a cup of ice with you to class and keep a cube in your mouth at all times...it's almost impossible to fall asleep when you're chewing on ice.

You'll get through the grunt work, and the advanced classes are all worth the pain and boredom....trust me. Good luck!

Skip class. Attendance is not mandatory. As long as you don't miss quizzes or midterms, then you should be alright.

Also, try to sit with someone you know and sit in the back. That way, if the class is boring, you can talk to your friend (make sure to whisper).
