Good interviews are not formal - at least they do not appear to be. They are like exams. You prepare for them long before the interview. However like exams, there are only a limited time to probe the depth of your knowledge and skills. Landing a job with prepared answers and no substance will eventually exact a heavy price. Just look at the questions from disgruntled employees trying to get out of jobs. Other things being equal this tend to reflect square pegs in round holes who have landed jobs at all costs! Answer truthfully to the best of your ability and knowledge. The rest will take care of itself. Good Luck.

You do not say what the interview is for?
If its for a job and you want to work for the organisation then be bright, perky, upbeat and positive. also do a little research into the organisation.
If its with your boss, he/she may be sounding you out for a task or project, or maybe they are looking to shed staff. If this is the case then its back stabbing time. Only you do not play the back stabber, you have to demonstrate what a wonderful asset your to the organisation.

Look them directly in the eye. They are trained to view this as a sign of honesty, even though many pshycotics probably look everyon in the eye. Never bad mouth any of your former employers (because they are afraid you may do them the same way someday). It doesn't mater if you worked for the Mafia, have something positive to say.

If it's very informal, like the ones I give, then you'll be asked if you'd like to spend the night with me in my bed.
