Use a 3.5mm to 3.5mm cable (that's a standard headphone sized plug, but a cable that has the same connection on both ends). You can get one for a couple of quid on eBay.

Plug one end into the headphone socket of your cassette player and the other end into the line in or mic socket of your PC's sound card.

Use any program you have available to record the sound. Anything from Sound Recorder to Adobe Audition. Simply press play on the tape and record in the program.

I believe a good way, would be to buy a mic for your pc, and record the music off of your cassette recorder. Then you will be able to save it as an mp3 and make a cd or put it on your ipod.

Copnnect your cassette player to your PC then use a programme called Polderbits. From there of course you can burn it to a CD if you wish. Great fun to use and you can get a free trial.

A little contraption called iMic. You can record directly from the cassettes (or even records) to your computer.
