The vocal fringe of every classification of human, be it liberal, conservative, black, white, yellow, brown, gay, straight, Christian, Atheist, etc, etc, etc. is who represents your beliefs to the rest of the world. If you want the vocal fringe not to represent you then you have to become vocal!!

Just letting you all know that when I say Libotard, I am referring to the vocal fringe. Some right wingers would consider some of my views liberal.

>I'm prochoice.
>I'm for certain social programs like medical cards for the pregnant and children in school. I'm not for welfare beyond single mothers with children not yet school age.
>I believe government should be completely out of the picture on deciding who may or may not get married.
>I am for more fuel efficient vehicles and less dependence on oil.
>I think we are wasting time, money and lives by having our military in Iraq. The threat is gone, get out already.
>There's more, but you get my point, yes?

I constantly get labeled as a bigot, when I make extreme right wing statements that are to inspire laughter at ourselves and how we appear to the people in the middle and far left. It's for fun!

I'm sure your youthful decision to do so comes with wisdom. Wisdom knows that people who have a different opinion than your own will call you 'names'. because they fear you.

You 'friendly' intentions only aggravate people and incite people to do exactly what you want them to do, even though you consider it 'fun'. Your actual fun is the reactions you get from the people who get upset at your statements. In fact, I'm sure you make statements, that you may not even believe in just to get someone to react to them.

When and if you get hurt, blame yourself for your condition, no one else......

Yes, the right wingers would say you fell off their cabbage truck! You positions are mine to a tee, but I have been labeled a libotard and worse for so long I am defensive.
If I am suspicious of our Administration's long term plans for us, it's because Bush has been lying from his first days in office. Having researched my answers carefully and many sides of the spectrum, I do sincerely believe that there is a bleak future for many of us, if the powers behind Bush are not stopped.
Having said that, I still believe myself to be a moderate.

Yes, I understand your point of view much better now.

The vocal fringe need more challenging jobs, or hobbies. The rest of us don't have time to police them.
You are right about the fact that the fringe make the rest of us look bad.

You sound Libertarian. Keep expressing your views. People are afraid of words and it sounds like you are trying to expose some of the ridiculousness out there. If everyone expressed safe, non-threatening views, we would all be shackled by political correctness and censorship. This is an excellent forum for folks such as yourself who have a point of view and who want others to THINK about their own views. Keep at it.

Actually, the vocal fringe doesn't represent the group. They are just assumed to represent the group by many outside the group.

If other people want to make stupid and foolish assumptions that the fringe fanatics are actually representative, that's their delusion and their error. It doesn't make it true.

i agree w/ you (on your views that is)

and if people get mad at you for expressing your views then they have the problem...not you.

This is America and we have a powerful right...freedom of speech, which also includes freedom of expression, association and belief. That is a right, not a privilege. If anybody takes that away from you they are commiting the most un-American act possible.

Well said!! If we do not speak out then we knowingly allow others to speak for us. They may not represent our beliefs, but how is the world to know if we allow our beliefs to remain unrepresented?
