I don't reall wear makeup but this is for women who do go overboard. Of course, we all have different meanings of what overboard is. I'd like to hear some of yours.

When you look at the makeup instead of the woman. Makeup should enhance a woman's beauty not overpower it. If the makeup is the first thing that you notice then it is too much, you should be able to look at the face first and then notice the details and shading.

Anytime you can see the makeup line around her face. Blending is a must when wearing cosmetics.

When she's outside and you can see the makeup on her face without having to get close to her. Caked on makeup shows in sunlight, even from 10 feet away.

When the colors are so dark and/or unnatural she looks like she's dressed for a costume party. Maroon lipstick isn't always the best idea.

When she's trying to be a Tammy Faye Baker look-a-like. That woman is famous for her look, it's just that bad!

Whenever a woman looks like she has put it on with a putty knife or trowel. It shouldn't be thick, just lightly covering her skin to even it out. Eyes and lips should be colored to enhance her look, not overwhelm it.

The only time there is no such thing as too much makeup is Halloween or other costume needs. Otherwise, there is always a way that's overdone.

When she looks like a cross between the wicked witch of the west and Ursula the sea-witch. The worst kind is when she rushes to put it on and don't take time to evaluate. This is from a mans perspective.

The trick to make up is to make it look like you aren't wearing any. The purpose of make up is to enhance your natural beauty, and to accentuate your best features. So, when you look like a clown, or everyone notices the 3 inches of blush or something, it's safe to say you're wearing too much. My personal make up routine takes less than 15 minutes.

I think it's too much make up if a woman looks completely different when she takes it off.

Cher.

Oh yeah, and that little dot in the middle of her forehead? That's her bellybutton, it ended up there from too many facelifts.
