I noticed on my black bra that there are two white spots where my nipples rest. I am five months pregnant and this is my first baby. Is it normal to have a small amount of lactation before the baby is born, even if I'm still 4 months away from giving birth?

It's very normal especially toward the end of your pregnancy....your breasts are filling with milk..................

I'm 14 weeks pregnant (just starting my second trimester), and at my doctor visit one week ago, she said that I could start leaking colostrum at any time now. She said it would likely be thick and clear, possibly with a yellowish tint to it. Nothing to worry about though.

If you're still worried, call your doctor - I'm sure they get questions from worried moms-to-be all the time. Sheesh - I think it comes with the turf of an OB/GYN!

This is really normal, it's called colostrum and it's your body preparing to produce milk. When I was 18 weeks pregnant I woke up one morning and my chest was wet, then I realized my breast were leaking and it really freaked me out, so in a panic I went to see my doctor and he said it's very normal. So don't worry and good luck with the rest of your pregnancy

Yes. Some women leak while pregnant and some don't. Either is normal and either mother can produce plenty of breastmilk for her baby post-partum. Get some nursing pads to wear in your bra to protect your clothing.

Its colostrum...I had it a couple of times at 5 to 5-1/2 months...I just used a breast pad so as not to stain my clothes, or have it soak through.

Nothing to worry about. It's not the actual milk that comes in, but it's predecessor, Colostrum.
