If you got heartburn before you got pregnant you may be more likely to get it while you are. If so, it usually happens as the uterus expands up into the abdomen and presses on the stomach.

My mother in law said that if you crave spicy you are having a boy. I craved spicy with both my childen (both boys).

It's different for everyone. I got heartburn the whole time I was prgnant it didn't matter if I ate spicy or mild foods. It is ususally ok to take tums when pregnant, but check with your doctor. Papaya nectar is supposed to be good for heartburn.

Not everyone gets heartburn, I had it horribly with my first and although I ate a ton of spicy food with the second and third, I never got it.

More towards the end of your pregnancy, when there is no more room left. It wont make any difference what type of food you eat, it is simply to do with the stomach being under pressure.

I found the best way to relieve mine was to sleep propped up into an almost vertical position. I only experienced it during my first pregnancy though, so you don't always get it.

If you do get it later on, just eat small meals more frequently and try not to eat too late.

I got it a bit towards the end of my pregnancy, but not enough to stop me from eating spicy stuff. Whenever I did eat spicy stuff, I just made sure I stayed in an upward position to not aggravate it more.

Some get heartburn, some don't. I started getting heartburn in my second trimester when I started to show. It increasingly got worse from there.

The old-wives tale is that if you have heartburn, your child has a lot of hair on it's head. Well, mine did!!

All kinds of food set me off. If it wasn't bland and simple, I got heartburn!

I had heartburn when I was pregnant and I was told that it was because my baby had a head full of hair and she did.
