I have white stuff pouring out of my vents. It is an intermittant problem that only happens when I have the A/C on. It's smoky - but it's NOT smoke (it's completely odorless)....it only LOOKS smoky. It doesn't happen all the time. Sometimes it's very light and stops happening after a few seconds...other times it's POURING out of my vents (and will eventually slow down & stop). Sometimes it doesn't happen at all. Is this a freon leak, perhaps? I know nothing about cars - so any theories are most welcomed. The car is a 1987 Nissan Stanza with a little over 120,000 miles on it...car still runs great - but I'd like to know what this little problem is.

whats up guy- this is nothing to worry about, I used to have a few cars that did that. It's a simple explanation, just like when it's FREEZING outside and you walk out from being somewhere warm and your breath kind of smokes. Same thing, older cars or cars with high mileage are not as insulated as new cars. when the cold air hits the warm vents it happens- don't worry it just means you have a really good a/c-alex

The smoke is you are in a high humidity area and the air is cooling it so much , what you are seeing is the water vapor blowing out and being almost frozen... sort of like your breath on a cold winter day... nothing wrong.. unnerving to those inexperienced

You don't have anything to worry about, it just means that your air conditioning is working really, really good. I wish my A/C still worked that well in my old truck.
