that a person instantly becomes more attractive just cos someone else is interested in him/her?

Yes, of course, and it is not only when thinking about dating, but with everything in life. Have you ever noticed how it is much easier to get a job when you have one than when you are unemployed ...it is the same thing. What happens in here is that, since we humans don't have any objective scale for measuring the worth of other people in any sense (physical, social, intellectual, etc.) We end up depending a lot on using the average opinion of a person as seen by the rest of the group. When a person is desirable by others (we here that someone says "damn! she's fine", we see her dating somebody else, we hear that the person works at a good company before interviewing him/her for a possession), that average opinion, at least in our eyes gets pushed up a notch and we, of course view that person as more desirable based on the scale that we are currently judging (physical attractiveness, job performance, etc.)

Sometimes. It depends on if they like you or not or if you attracted to that person at all. But yeah, I've had that happen and it makes ya wonder.

Yes, this happens alot I believe. I think married men have this problem alot. Many women chase that dream for that reason alone.
