most will come out to their friend before their parents...i see kids about 16 or 17 who are gay, you know...acting gay, I doubt that they act like this around their parents...Ive been around a lot of gay people for a long time...and I have seen acting gay be truned on an off at the drop of a hat...i think the average age people come out is around 20 to 25...whenever the person is secure with their lifestyle...and usually find someone to be with and dont want to have to hide it, because that is a major strain on a relationship...and if the partner is already open, the relationship will not work, if the other is no out of the closet

From what I have noticed with my children and the kids they are hanging out with in school it seems that the average age these days is around 12-14 but these kids come out to their friends and social circle but do not come out to their family until High School around 16 when they absolutely have to because of the times when they want to go to a school function as a couple and .. well lets face it they just have to say hey mom.. dad... this is my BF or GF.. and well.... UMMMM... im gay.... and if you think it is getting any easier to come out to parents these days.. im embarassed to say of my generation ( the parents of today) it isnt.. I thought it would be .. but our children are doing a better job of tollerance than we are, and we were the generation that said we would be the tollerant ones... wow when did we get so old...
anyway..

It all depends on how comfortable you are to come out, I myself was 24 when I came out to my family....21 to the rest of the world....my partner was like 13 when their dad knew, 17 fo their mom, whenever you feel comfortable is when you should come out, there is no set agE!! Good luck and relax, your family and friends will always love you remember that!!
