All those dropped passes were stupid, they should've been caught. owens had a few that shouldnt have dropped, so I dont think all that falls on bledsoe, he did play much better as opposed to last week.

Not here sister, I am die hard Dallas Cowboy fan!! I loved last night's game. I was not happy to see TO drop all those passes, I mean he dropped one in the end zone!! And they really shouldn't have let Cartwright run that ball 100 yards for a TD. I really don't care for Drew Bledsoe, but you take what you can get. The Skins just don't have much of an offense, YIPPEE!! GO COWBOYS!! AMERICA'S TEAM!!! You are right about Clinton Portis, they had him when they played Minnesota, but lost that one too!! My husband is a die hard Washington Redskins fan and he was hoping Brunell would break his arm or something so they would have to put another QB in!!!

Once again the problem was NOT that the Redskins wouldn't open up the offense. Only 16 runs called all game is not Redskins football. The offensive line couldn't open any holes early in the game. They did better late but Dallas had loosened up their D with the lead. 37 passes and WR reverses were called and, as I mentioned last week, the typical Al Saunders pass play has no primary receiver and almost always has receivers in deep patterns. Either the receivers are significantly less talented than we expected or Brunell is incapable or unwilling to throw across the middle and throw deep. His one relatively deep throw to Cooley had way to much air under it and was easy pickins'. John Madden indicated that he did not think the offense would work as long as Brunell was at QB. The network several times flashed to open receivers downfield who were not getting thrown too, and who were visably frustrated.
I like Brunell. I think he was an exciting player in his heyday and I think he made some great plays for the Skins last year. Unfortunately, I believe he is well past his prime and can not make deep throws consistently, and is now afraid to take any chances at any time. Other young QB's are faring well and I believe Campbell is ready. Philip rivers looks okay, Leinart and Cutler have looked good in preseason, Roethlisberger has shined, Eli looks good. I also believe even Todd Collins may be a better option than Brunell at this point. Part of Brunell's problem is he looks confused.
I also don't think it's all Brunell. The lack of fire and cohesion indicate that those who think the Skins were right by laying low in preaseason, and not playing the starters much, were dead wrong. The Skins are not ready to play and are playing now like it is preseason and they are working out the kinks. Even if they get it together they will likely have 3-5 losses by then. Injuries happen and the preseason is there to get your veterans playing at game speed with a worthy opponent, and work out the kinks before the season started. The offensive line in particular has looked much less than impressive. If they don't start opening some holes and giving the QB some time, it won't matter who is throwing the ball.
The defense has proven to be vulnerable without quality one-on-one cover corners. With Shawn Springs out, and Carlos Rogers thus far not living up to last year's promise, the corners can't handle single coverage and the heavy blitzing and pressure that are staples of Greg Williams are not available. We need Springs and Portis back in a bad way and we need one other corner to step up his game. I still believe Rogers can do it but he is running out of time.
This preseason is Gibbs' biggest error in judgement to date and injuries have not helped him. Leaving Brunell in much longer will be his next big error unless something dramatic happens and fast.

I am a Redkins fan, but Brunell has to go. He is too old and slow and indecisive. Gibbs should start calling the plays again. In the game last night, I could not count the times that someone was open, but Brunell would not throw the ball. I also think that the players are tired of playing with Brunell and they are not putting up 100%. Before they go anywhere this year, Brunell is going to have to earn their respect. I don't see it happening.

Can't say much-Dallas D shut them down. How about that kickoff return though? Parcells looked pretty pissed after it happened. Drew Bledsoe played much better. Think there were like 8-9 dropped passes. His stats should've looked better.
Go Cowboys!!!

I have to say that we played terribly. HOWEVER, that just means you beat a worse team. The game could have gone either way. 1 - You wouldn't have had 1,000,000 dropped passes and would have killed us by 30, or 2 - Brunell wouldn't have thrown that stupid interception at the 1, it would have at least been a 13-17 game and maybe we could have realized we have to THROW the ball to our receivers.

Not in this part of the country. Diehard fans of Drew Bledsoe .T.O. looked bad but it seems he broke his finger in the first quarter. Tough catching a ball with that. He will get better.
