No, I believe that God does not intervene in happenings on Earth. Why would God answer one person's prayer and cure their disease but let someone else who is equally devout die? I don't see the connection. Some would argue that it was "God's will" or "God does everything for a reason." But I believe this is just a cop-out, why are some "cured" by God and some are not. I think a simple answer is that some people survive a disease and some don't, just based purely on natural reasons, the will to live, better treatment, luck, etc. I believe God is a deistic God. God doesn't interfere with Earthly matters.
However, it is possibly that the act of prayer and the hope it gives someone could give them an extra boost or a better attitude. Even though I don't believe God intervenes and heals, I do believe that the will to live by the diseased person could be boosted by prayer. So, this is almost just like someone with an extraordinary will to live - a good attitude is key to battling a disease, so prayer could have an affect.

we always trying to realize that which we believe...Isn't it? Belief based on knowledge, right? Knowledge which we have does not really make our individual wishes comes true...we know too a little....mind cannot hold all possible knowledge..., but we believe that we know a lot, as a result life in a planet becoming surreal. It is a consequences of beliefs sum total....Back to question....do we really know what illness/disease is? That which humanity knows does not make prayer sufficient...Yet , deep inside everyone knows, that is why seemingly ignorant prayer if prayed wholeheartedly works, and it had been noticed by science. That is why hospitals having an interest right now in healing matter. It is up to you, to believe it or not, but what you believe will come to your life as you believe in it, and what is not believed will pass you, serving others who believe....

I heard of some blind tests done and they were inconclusive. It would seem that the power of positive thinking would somehow cause the immune system to react in a better way. Whether its called prayer or power of positive thinking, it makes sense to me that your own brain is causing the desired reaction, not some external supernatural source that is asked to repeal the laws of the universe in your favor. ....now that doesn't make common sense at all.
Psychosomatic illness may produce symptoms similar to physical disease, it is not a physical disease but a mental affliction. Symptoms that merely give the appearance of physical disease lend themselves to removal solely by psychological means, including rituals, prayers or other displays of faith healing.
Solely as the result of scientific medicine, human life expectancy has more than doubled since humans progressed beyond the age when medical resources consisted of prayer, magic and faith healing. Any person who relies on the imaginary benefits of faith to heal physical ailments can expect to revert to the life expectancy that was common in past centuries.

Off course prayer can cure your disease .Pray with confidence that your prayer is going to be effective and after the the prayer is over believe that your prayer is already answwered positively i.e. the discease is cured. Your subconscious mind will see that it is done. Because your subconscious mind is your soul which is responsibble for the wellbeing of your body. As your soul is a part of the supreme soul- The Almighty--GOD--there is no other way .

Not really unless you look at prayers as a sort of meditation which gives you calmness and positive outlook which in turn makes you look at life in a better perspective. Yes then i do think it will work. The only reason you can get better from the disease is because you are positive and when you are positive you have less stress in you.

No, it does not cure you. Have you read the study that it can even be harmful? It sometimes gives false hope which can lead to greater disappointment when things don't go well. Testimony about doctors being stumped by people being "cured" is only an indication of their limited understanding. People also get better without treatment.

Totally, but not because I have faith in a specific 'god'. Nor do I believe you have to repeat prayers or chants. The truth is that people heal themselves, and they can heal others in much the same way. It's belief in your minds power over everything here, this is not to say we have power over each other, just that we really do have power over ourselves- bodies, and power over our environments. Psychometry, telekinesis, raiki all are examples of what we are capable of on such a small scale. Look at these and other examples with an open mind, because once opened it can't be closed.

The jury is still out on this one. But it is a broad question.
The research in this area is very little & there is alot to be discovered, I suspect, about the mind's healing function on the body. Anectdotally, I have heard numerous examples of individuals recieving benefit from faith healers praying over them.
I am a practitioner of several energy healing modalities & have seen some things that I would have found difficult to believe if I had not been there myself.
So who can say? Humans are energetic systems as well as chemical ones. Perhaps prayer changes our energy pattern & helps the body heal itself?
;-)

Yes, if you are an extremely religious and spirtual person I strongly belive that praying can cure you of a disease and illness however some people are sceptical in terms of uncurable diseases such as Aids & Cancer. As a muslim I belive that everybody has been given a date as to which they are going to die, and the illnesses are merely an excuse for death.

I believe it. I also think it is hard to get the results you want if you keep saying the opposite of what you hope to happen. Do you need prayer for an illness or was this just a question? drop me a comment.
