To make a trumpet "growl", you use a technique I call "flutter tongue". Put your tongue lightly against the roof of your mouth where you teeth meet it (where you usually tongue a note), and push air out of your mouth until the tongue flutters, making it sound a bit like a motor. If all the air goes through without a flutter, your tongue is too loose. If it doesn't work for you, try sliding your tongue back into your mouth a bit while still keeping it loosely against the roof of your mouth. After a little experimentation, you should get that rolling r sound. Now put the mouthpiece to your mouth and do NOT apply any more pressure than normal. Buzz your embouchure like you normally do, but with a fluttering tongue, and your trumpet will growl.

once you assert growling... do you recommend you're having difficulty getting the notes to sound?? i will provide you with some suggestion on what to do, yet I in basic terms have the want to make positive it really is what you recommend.

you flutter your tongue while playing. Its the same as when you roll your R's in spanish just into a mouth piece. That always works for me.

I'm not a hundred percent, since I never played trumpet, buy you could maybe try rolling your tongue.

Roll your tongue on top of your mouth while you blow the trumpet. When you succeed,your girlfriend is gonna "love" you soooo much.... heh. :P
