EXACT same thing happened to me. I have been on it for about 2 years now and this actually didn't start happening till about 6 months ago. It sucks so bad because I just bled for 2 months straight. I talked to the Dr and she said it sometimes happens. It's nothing too worry about. My Dr. said that eventually I should stop bleeding for such a long time. The last time I went in she suggested that if it continues to happen that she can give me estrogen pills to take so it would stop.
She also suggested coming in about 2 weeks early and getting my shot, she said that sometimes helps people.
Don't worry though because nothing is wrong. It's really annoying and inconveniant but hopefully it will stop. If you are still worried you can always call your Dr. or a nurse and they will always try to answer your questions.

It is normal, I had the same problem. Got depos for about a year, bled that brownish stuff every day! Plus gained about 20 pounds. It probably won't stop. The lucky ones don't bleed at all. Others bleed the whole damn time! Get off it, try the ring, the main side effect is terrible bloating for about a week before you start, otherwise it's been ok.

Don't worry, it's normal. Each woman reacts differently to the Depo shot. A common side effect is irregular menses, but this usually clears up after a few months. Eventually most women stop menstruating all together. As long as you aren't having any other problems such as worse than normal cramping or clotting then you just have to wait it out. If you are one of the very few unlucky ones who continue to bleed even after a few shots then I would consider switching to another form of birth control. Good luck.

hey there . no need to worry on the bleeding some women bleed continually on the depo shot . and someone will never bleed again . .. i was on the shot for 5 yrs .never bleed but noone ever told me the depo shot is very bad for you if you are on it longer than 2 yrs . what it does is denses your bones , and when you do decide to get off of it it could take anywhere from 12 months to 18 months to get pregnant .. so think about that ... and you should start taking calcium pills for your bones . . i hope this helps . if your still worried go to your doctor .tc god bless xoxo

The shot sucks if I wasn't bleeding i was screaming at someone. So let it run it's course than opt for a pill if you have a reaction to pills you stop taking them and it goes away with the shot you have three months to live with the system and no way to remove it from your body.

Yes, this is normal. According to the drug information that your doctor should have given to you when you received your shot, what you have described is normal.
