In desert people ware black, yes it get hot but from experience they know/learned that they do not get skin cancer from UV. Also loose black garment create shade and allow ventilation and cut out UV.

Black cuts out UV. White umbrella is available, as a matter of fact they come in all colours. Black ones do not get dirty, so black is more common.

Umbrella creates shade, temperature in shade is some 5 to 10 degrees Fahrenheit lower then in sun. Most people use umbrella to keep rain out but it can provide shade also, so this is the second use of an umbrella.

I Hope you get the idea. Shade is shade colour does not matter much.
