Looking for the half way point, to meet someone where there's major attractions and reasonable lodging. The trip to Savannah from Tampa is about 5 1/2 hours.

it's about 5 hours to jacksonville and then another 2 to savannah. you can stop in gainsville or tallahassee - it will depnd on which route you're taking. be careful if you're driving through Waldo and the sorrounding town -- they ticket with a vengence! along I-10 watch out in Leon county!
if you take the smaller route through waldo and such - great little roadside shops all along the way!

Yeah there is any city down here in South Florida. . Most of the same reason, except the totally packed house every night. Most nights yeah, but not all. Haley, when was the last time you went to the grocery store in a bikini top? If you will tell I will tell. . EDIT: Haley. About a year ago too. Was going out on a friends boat and made a grocery run too. I am too and jeans or shorts and t-shirt shopper. But you never know. But the guys are are going to fantasize anyway, let them. EDIT.: JayK At least with a hurricane you know it's coming and can prepare. Earthquakes and such there are no real warnings.

go to a site such as maps.yahoo.com or mapquest and do the Driving Directions link.

enter Tampa, FL and Savannah, GA and look at the map it creates. Divide the distance in half and look for the closest city to the half way point.

I would try either Jacksonville or Gainsville. The best way is to try either google or mapquest.
