I am not really sure that it is called converting text but here is what I want to do..

I want to be able to type out a document with changing fonts and colors. Here is the problem..
I want to be able to see the html codes or whatever it is you call them...for what I have typed. That way when I copy and paste to a website I can paste the code, so all of my fonts and colors will show as I created them in my word doc.
If anyone has a clue to what I am talking about and can tell me what I need to do, please tell me!!!!

Okay, what you need is an HTML editing program. The best one for this type of application is Microsoft FrontPage, but there are many available for free. CoffeeCup Software is a good place to start. I don't recommend starting in word, because when you open the document in an editor you could lose all of the fonts, colors, and other format settings. As a second place to look go to Cnet's Download.com site. Hope this helps.

I'm not sure by what process you are using to copy and paste to a website.

If you are talking about posting to a discussion board via a form you may still be at risk of losing everything.

If you are talking about posting it to your own web page for others to see the results then what you want is a WYSIWYG (what you see is what you get editor) that will also allow you to view the html.

You can do this in word and save the file as html or use microsoft frontpage. Otherewise there are other free editors that you can download to help.

If this still isn't clear and you need more help feel free to email me and clarify what it is you are doing with the text and I cna help you out more.

You can save your Word doc as HTML and then open it in wordpad or notepad as plain text to see the codes. Be aware, though, that MSWord produces extremely ugly HTML. While there is a freeware utility (demoroniser) to clean it up, better options are to switch to a WYSIWYG HTML editor (Frontpage, or one of several available freeware ones) or learn to write HTML. Basic HTML is pretty simple.

you have to either learn how to write in HTML or download a program that will do it for you. a program like that would let you create what you want, then give you the code so you can easily paste it into the website.
