I disagree. I don't remember where it was that I saw it, but once upon a time I saw this study that talked about that. I remember they showed two pictures of the same woman. One was as she actually appeared. The other they took half of her face and mirrored it onto the other side to simulate perfect symmetry. The picture that was mirrored did not look like a real person. It seemed overly artificial and looked nothing like the real person. The picture demonstrating asymmetry was more beautiful than symmetry.

NO IT IS NOT TRUE. Asymmetrical faces can be some of the most attractive out there! Besides, no one's is perfectly symmetrical. It's just not possible. Haven't seen a pic of you, but I'll bet you're the only one who notices that jawline! Everyone says I have a beautiful face (if I'd only lose 50 pounds like that would help) and my eyebrows arch completely differently; and my mouth curves different on the left than the right. and no one notices unless I tell them. You shouldn't obsess about the unusual things, they're what makes you beautiful!

Yes and no. Most models have almost symmetrical faces--although no one is perfect. But there are also plenty of beautiful people without symmetrical faces. Katie Holmes for instance has a very assymetrical face, yet many people find her very attractive. I think there is so much else that plays into beauty than just bone structure and symmetry. For instance, confidence and happiness both appear on your face and give you a natural glow that is beautiful and you are unable to fake it.

There have been studies conducted that indicate that people prefer individuals that have symmetrical features. However, it is important to note that attractiveness of an individual is much more than their features. I'm sure most of us can think of a time where we were not attracted to a person at first, but after getting to know them, we found ourselves attracted to them--- the affect of personality on what we think about a person's attractiveness is powerful

Not 100% true. Because beauty is in the eye of the beholder. But in general society does prefer symmetry.

Its not about looks, symmetry or asymmetry. To me its more how you carry your self. Some of the cutest guys are ugly , because they are just to cocky, so its not all about looks..

Greater asymmetry is associated with lower fertility as read by men (correctly or incorrectly). Smaller asymmetries as you describe are probably not noticeable or are easily overlooked.

No, it's not true. Look at the actor Owen Wilson, he has to pretty much beat women off and he has a very crooked nose.

"they" say that models have symetrical faces. I don't think one or the other makes people ugly however. My hairdresser has the most crocked nose I've ever seen and people think she's pretty.
