No, but over a number of years they could be worked up. Think about Fox News' war on Christmas, the furor over a photograph of a crucifix standing in a vat of urine ..

Probably not. Catholics know they have it good here. In most of Europe, being a Catholic is considered sort of quaint, like churning your own butter and not having a TV. In Muslim countries, in can get you killed. In America, you can do what you want as long as you are willing to put up with some guff from people who disagree and haven't learned how to do it politely.
The correct Catholic way to deal with an insult is to say that you are offering up the suffering for the poor souls in purgatory. At least that was what I was taught in school. I've been away a long time.
It makes for better PR than rioting. Also I think attending a riot is an occasion of sin. That is, it's not a real sin like breaking a window or knocking a Muslim on the head but it puts you so close to doing such things that you'd better stay home and say the rosary. Or watch TV.

Many Muslim extremists have insulted the pope, but did the American Catholics riot? No. So if u insult the pope, I think the Catholics won't riot. But don't even think of insulting the pope!

No, we are not violent barbarians. We may protest against the perpetrators of the insult if so moved, but most of the time the idiots who spew against the Church are just such small-minded idiot losers they are not worth the effort.

Luckily for us, our God, our Faith and our Church are strong enough to withstand the insults of non-believers.

It is almost funny to see the Muslims get violent, riot, burn and murder over any imagined insult. What is ironic is that in the latest case, they are actually proving the point of the imagined insult. What a second rate god, religion and prophet they must have, that they are so harmed by cartoons and words taken out of context and any other perceived insult or denigration.

It reminds me more of the reaction of elementary schoolchildren to insults than anything mature or adult.

I think not ! I remember when a Muslim tried to assassinate was it Pope John Paul, the catholics around the world didn't murder or riot.
Now if an Islamic cleric was assassinated or attempted to be assassinated by a Westerner, then loooooook out, Holy Jihad.

They are all crazy.

Probably not... we consider this country to be christian oriented, but there's so much violence and hate going in the world that I doubt any more than a few 100,000 would actually riot.
