"We shall break the cross and spill the wine ... God will (help) Muslims to conquer Rome ... (May) God enable us to slit their throats, and make their money and descendants the bounty of the mujahideen," said the statement, posted on Sunday on an Internet site often used by al Qaeda and other militant groups.

Something that gives me pause, by ANNA JOHNSON, Associated Press Writer, reporting on the latest muslim reaction to the Pope's comment; We will break up the cross, spill the liquor and impose head tax, then the only thing acceptable is a conversion (to Islam) or (killed by) the sword."
"Islam forbids drinking alcohol and requires non-Muslims to pay a head tax to safeguard their lives if conquered by Muslims. They, the conquered, are exempt if they convert to Islam."

The old sage tells us it is not wise to bring a sword to a gunfight. I think he's right! I don't want to be involved in a gunfight but, from what I'm reading, I don't think I have the choice. It's coming, it's close. All we need to make it a reality is a few more PC lies, a few more debates over our vanishing liberties, a few more mistakes and oversights, and viola! They're heeerreee! Regardless your age, in my humble opinion, it will happen in our lifetime. Regardless of your political afiliation, your sensibilities, your education or personal experiences you will be touched by it!

Once our local mall gets shredded into powder and it's us going to the hospitals to check on our sons, daughters, mothers, brothers, sisters, fathers, it might sink in these ppl are for real! And they could care less who or what you say you are!

I harken back to the words of David Byrne; "This ain't no party, this ain't no disco, this ain't no foolin' around. No time for dancing, or lovey dovey, we ain't got time for that now!"

It is a well known fact that fear, real or imagined, has been a motivator throughout the history of mankind in many situations and I say; Be afraid ppl, for your own good, be very afraid. I know I am! And I am taking every step I can, if not to stop, but only to ease, my being afraid!

You know that scene in the film 'Big' when Tom Hanks says 'I don't get it' when he is talking about the toys, same principle. Which reminds me I've not had a coffee all day, I'm getting bored of tea. I do not know if you allowed to slag off the Pope, I'm presuming it is probably a crime punishable by death, so I will be careful here, which commandment said, 'Thou shalt not...etc'

I'm presuming that whatever the Pope says, or how he waves his hand is all monitored by 'advisors' therefore it is no accident that what was said was said, maybe, just maybe there was an agenda or maybe it was an innocent mistake and maybe lots of people will die. Either way sticks and stones. I don't know anymore, what is the world coming to. Let's just pray that they do not wage a war.

I don't think they actually understand the word "Apology"

Fair enough the pope said something inappropriate but he has done the decent thing and apologised. We all make mistakes no matter what job description we have.

Although I think the "Al Qaeda" are just using this as an excuse for yet more pointless news exposure for them selves.

Why wont the Muslim majority actually try and become part of our society instead of alienating them selves?

They are really petty and one day the newspapers are going to get bored writing about them than I am reading about them.

Instead of all this waging war nonsense I would like to see the leader of the challenging party (e.g. Bush) personally challenge the leader of the defending party (who ever that may be) to a 1-on-1 fisticuffs, playground scrap to decide the winner.

Millions of lives would be spared, it would all be over in 10 minutes and then everyone could go and have a nice cup of tea!

Al Qaeda militants are obviously very devoted but appear to take things too seriously. The Pope has apologized why not just let it go? They are too radical in their beliefs.

Last I checked in Iraq they pretty much had us on our backsides, at least in Anbar. If we hadn't screwed up and gone into Iraq this wouldn't be going on and we might have actually moved forward with some success in this "War on Terror".

Yes we would still have militant Islamic groups, but we might have been able to destroy Al Qaeda, at least its leadership, and we would be much better off militarily since our military wouldn't be tied down in a losing war in Iraq and thus we would be better able to respond to actual threats.

All in the name of religion...ever tried thinking for yourself, you religious nutters, (of all types)...and if you aren't just as scared by fundamentalist Christians you should get your head out of your @$$ and see what they're up to...look at that University they run with the sole purpose of getting positions of power in the White House...and what are they going to do once they are there? Make everything nice and encourage everyone to tolerate each other?
I don't think so....

I sure God really wants an all out war between the Muslims and the Christians, Jews, and Hindus.

When religion disintegrates into mindlessness, it's really time to rethink your beliefs.
