No difference because:
1. The amount of water relative to sponges is huge, they have little effect.
2. Only DRY sponges would take in water.
3. The sponge is still underwater, so it would not make a difference even if it was not dry.
4. Real-life sponges only filter water, they don't take it in or expel it at different times.

A little (very little) common sense is in order here.
Truth is, the ocean would not be deeper, it would be shallower, (discounting replenishment from rainfall).
a sponge has mass and that mass displaces water, if you removed all the sponges, the ocean depth would drop. although it would not drop very much due to the volume of water that exists versus the volume of sponges.
Try something harder.
