I am 9 months pregnant, and have not had a good nights sleep in a week. I am going Friday for a Cesarian, but would like to get atleast one nights sleep before the big day. I don't see a point in rushing out and buying one of those big body pillows, as I would never use it after I have the baby. PLEASE someone give me answers! I cannot breath at night when I go to bed, and I need sleep! I AM SOOOO TIRED!

I forgot to mention that when not pregnant I am a tummy sleeper. It is the only way I can sleep, and actually get a full nights rest. But, that is not even an option during pregnancy.

Try proping yourself on some pillows. Warm milk or tea. I'm in the same boat you are and with 2 weeks left to go. Try not to eat or drink about an hour before bed, and if you can have some one rub yor back and/or feet. if you hear of anything else let me know. also try to use a recliner if you have one

I am in the same boat. I just cant get comfortable and not breathing as well either anymore. I have the body pillow and it does not help all that much. This is my second pregnancy and there is really not much you can do. A friend used to sleep in a recliner chair and said it was the only way she could ge comfortable. I am really a stomach sleeper when I am not pregnant, so nothing really helps me. All I can say is sleep when you can. I assume you are not still working, so take advantage of sleep during the day and take a nap here and there. Remember, dont let anyone make you feel feel bad at the hospital about letting the nurses take care of your baby so you can get some sleep. It may very well be the last good nights sleep you will get in months, and on top of it all you will be recovering from major surgery.

1. Exercise reguarly but finish the work out 3 hours before bed so you have less energy.
2. Avoid food or drink high in sugar before bed, try something healthy so you are not too full or hungry,
3. Make sure your room is dark, cool and quiet and that your pillows are at the right comfort level.

Pregnancy is an exciting and physically demanding time. Physical symptoms (body aches, nausea, leg cramps, fetus movements and heart-burn), as well as emotional changes (depression, anxiety, worry) can interfere with sleep. In the NSF poll, 78% of women reported more disturbed sleep during pregnancy than at other times although some women have few sleep problems.

I've put in a website that you can look through to help.

Oh boy!

Well my dear.... You are big and ready to pop,, everything is being pushed and shoved in your body to places it normally does not sit...

A good nights sleep may be out of your reach right now...

Friday is not far away!!!

Try propping up on pillows to ease breathing, even if you have to sit up and prop agsint a wall....Maybe if you have a lazy boy chair try sleeping in that reclined a bit....

A body pillow is usally less than 10.00 If you think it would help you sleep GET ONE

You may use it to breat feed or prop later as well

Try not eating close to bedtime so your tummy is empty and compresses less on things when you lay down

Try getting some activity during the day help wear you out a bit,..but dont begin any excercise programs now! Just maybe take a walk... get some fresh air

Finally If you feel sleepy in the daytime... NAP NAP NAP
Sleep whenever you can get it

You are going to need it!

Good Luck!

Don't ever take the sleeping pills route!!

1. They will damage your liver big time and you can get into serious health problems.

2. You will get hooked up on them and you won't be able to have a normal life any more if you don't take your pills everyday.

The sleeping pills industry is damaging our health by capitalizing on our ignorance, and by distracting people from effective and natural ways to deal with this problem. I had been taking prescription sleep medications [Ambien] for over 5 years. It stopped working and I simply took more. Still did not work. Nights were very difficult - medication put me to sleep but I would wake up after 2–3 hours with a strong sympathetic response (fast pulse, pounding heartbeat, wide awake alert). It was a very difficult cycle to break. I was really in bad shape due to lack of sleep.

After years of struggling I was able to cure my insomnia naturally and pretty fast. I followed the Sleep Tracks sleep optimization program, here is their official web -site if you want to take a look: http://www.insomniacure.net

Ohhh..and Good Luck!

My wife was the same way during the last few weeks of pregnancy (we have 3 kids). One thing she was happy about after giving birth was being able to finally get comfortable enough to get some good sleep again.
I've been the one who woke up in the middle of the night to feed our last two children so she never had to do it. I'm a good daddy.
Your baby is taking up a LOT of room which makes it hard to breathe. It won't be long and you'll be able to be comfortable again. Just hang in there :O)

Sounds like excitement or some other emotion. The best way I know to fall asleep is block the repetitive thoughts with other repetative thoughts. Block the worrysome thoughts and think of sometning boring like counting backwards,or doing math problems. Try to think of a tranquil place such as a sea shore. Concentrate on that. Your brain will get tired pretty fast.
