I can't speak for everyone in my generation but I do think that many of us do like oldies music. I have friends who like older rock and roll type stuff and some of my other friends even like some of the popular stuff from like the 50's. I don't think that all of today's music sucks and I don't think its fair to blanket music that's current and just say its bad. There is a lot of bad stuff but there still is some good stuff out there too. Personally I like some of the old school R&B and I'm a huge fan of Motown. I'm not really sure if that answered your question or not.

I love all kinds of music. I have everything from the Ink Spots (40's music) all the way to Justin Timberlake's "Sexy Back" on my MP3 player. Most everyone I know has a huge variety of music that they listen to. True enough, some of the lyrics today leave a bit to be desired, but if the music is fun & you can dance to it, count me in! Same for oldies, if it's fun and I like it, I don't really care what decade the song is from.

I grew up listening to the oldies station on my transitor radio (in other words, you probably wouldn't consider me young %-). It was just outside of Detroit, so lots of Motown. There was plenty of bad music from back then (Pat Boone comes to mind) -- fortunately it no longer gets the air play. We can only hope that posterity keeps spinning the best of today and let's the worst be forgotten. (Or do what we can to influence posterity.)

In the meantime, there's a whole world of music out there for us to discover. Don't limit yourself to rock or the U.S. Your libraries and the internet can go a long way towards making up for radio's lack.

i used to be into rap, lol. Went via a sprint identity disaster for a on a similar time as. i in my view love 80's and ninety's no longer trouble-free rock and heavy steel. And 80's steel isn't Poison, Ratt, etc. i'm speaking Metallica, Slayer, Megadeth, to this point as 80's steel is going. And for ninety's stuff, Alice In Chains, STP, i ought to circulate on. yet I do like some 70's bands like skinny Lizzy, Rod Stewart and bluesy stuff like Stevie Ray Vaughan. i'm no longer able to record each thing from the precise of my head, yet i've got extremely different lots in the process the final 2 years or so. I additionally love Danny Elfman's scores for Batman, Batman Returns, Sleepy hollow, Pee Wee's vast journey, and John Williams' song from Jaws, Indiana Jones, celeb Wars, etc. The scores for Medal of Honor are additionally super, too. basic, I do rejoice with older song, stuff that's as old as me or maybe older. i'm no longer prepared on something new presently. I choose the old rap over the recent techno sounding bullsh!t. each thing today is extremely talentless yet very familiar. The song that has actual expertise is going ignored very badly. that's extremely unhappy.
