What's wrong with you, guys? Why everytime that someone mentions, even innocently, the word "Jew", he or she is immediatelly accused to be anti-Semite? I don't see anything like that in this question! Actually I think that it invites us to reflect better about it because our friend might be right.

Personally each time I watch a movie the protagonist has to underline that he/she is a Jew (and I wonder why), if they show something religious it is about Judaism (is it the only religion around?).
And then, do we want to consider how many movies have been done about the Holocaust?
Well, what happen back then (and I also think that it has been horrible) is not the only injustice happened in the history of the world.
Just look at what it is happening today and how many people are dying!

Let's think with our own brain and don't let the media think for us!

I'm Jewish and I can tell you that Hollywood is under considerable Jewish influence.

All the major Hollywood studios were created by jews, such as MGM. During the early 20th century, many Jews immigrated to America after fleeing the oppression that plagued their existence in Europe, bringing with them a wealth of stories and a rich culture.

During this time the film industry hadn't yet made its mark and few people were giving up their careers to make a movie. It has changed so much since then. Jewish immigrants saw the potential and the rest was history.

I saw a previous questions of yours... here is the answer, you can't convert to judiasm and expect to be a central player in the media, that is absurd idea! Firstly, being jewish is more than just a religion. We share a common ancestry. I may have agnostic beliefs but I still have jewish blood in me. Second, it takes hard work to make into the entertainment industry, not through by having a surname like "cohen" or "goldstein". Jews are not holding other people back. Speaking from my own experience, our culture thrives on education and hardwork. This is why we have made major contributions to the science and arts. Jews encourage their children to become doctors, lawyers, bankers, etc. The "American dream" was originally the "jewish dream" which America adopted.

Snowflake is a little of the mark and very biased. Very little is mentioned of Judiasm in films, catholism normally takes the limelight away from the other forms of religion, perhaps because its a branch of christianity and the most theatrical. e.g. Godfather, Exorcism, Omen, etc. I don't see how you cannot see that. Holocaust films have their place in Hollywood, so do world war II films; neither are over represented. We rarely make films of modern day conflicts because the truth is too close to home and Hollywood doesn't want to risk upsetting anybody. It was 5 years before the first 9/11 film came out. Maybe Snowflake should start being a little less subjective about this and little more critical over his own beliefs.
