Have you ever seen the movie office space? Remember the line '...sounds like a case of the mondays...'? My partner comes in EVERY monday, and she makes some kinda mistake on a process and says 'Well what can i say, it's monday...' and people laugh at that crap EVERY WEEK. Then on friday she comes in and someone asks 'How are you today?' and she says 'Well I'm just glad it's friday!' and they laugh EVERY WEEK. When she says that stuff to me i just stare at her because I'm so sick of hearing that crap, but i can almost tell she expects to get a giggle out of it from me. Should I still laugh just to be polite, or should I tell her to come up with more original material?

in short: yes, and gently!!!

the long version: honestly, I know ppl like this, (some are even related...) I never really got that so called since of humor... until I was at a "family thing"... and had nothing better to do than sit and watch these annoying pain in the...... anyway, the common factor:
~they are nervous as hell inside, and it's just a self-preservation kind of thing w/ them.
~they hate that they don't really "get jokes' like everybody else, so when they find one that works for them, (no matter HOW lame it is), they use it over, & over, and over! Kind of like you have 50 keys on a key ring and 20 of them work, but you tried/found the red one first so you just stick w/ it and don't even bother w/ the blue, green, silver... even when you know the red one is really getting worn out.
Anyway, they're really just super-sensitive to other people and they just aren't the brightest in the "comedy" department. That's all. Not like it's a big deal.
You wouldn't yell at two year old because they couldn't drive a car, right? Same thing really. You can't just blame / yell at someone just because they weren't blessed enough to be born with a sense of humor. And believe me, they already KNOW to their gut that their jokes are old & worn out! Just like they know, it's all they have!

Anyway, all that being said... what does any of that have to do with you - or how she's getting laughs from co-workers, or how she's being tollerated by co-worker's... what's that got to do with you? Why is it bothering you so much? Are you just NOT getting attention for something else - that maybe you SHOULD be getting acknowledged / appreciated for? Just a thought...

That's called social politeness. People do it all the time. If you don't want to be a part of it then ignore her. Or , say something stupid like " yeah, I know it's Monday" or "Yeah , I know It's Friday." Then maybe you'll get the office giggles and not her . she'll soon stop saying that . Or you'll both be saying it at the same time and it will be even funnier.Just make sure you smile when you say it , or it will come off as really rude.

its up to you, I think that I would say to her to come up with something new, things get old and then first you just stare then you just get pissed off and blow up at her and tell her that she is so annoying that you can't take it anymore, but I think that you shouldn't let it happen, just prevent it from getting nasty and tell her that you don't find it funny and that you think she should change a bit. good luck

every time I say s**t My dad will say and 2 is 8

I feel like smacking him because to me its stupid and aggervating as hell.

My advice is, beat her to the punch say it for her in a sarcastic way.
