There's a possibility we'll be spending it on a cabin by the ocean, so i'll bring plenty of wine, snacks and candles. What present should i get her though? and if we don't make it to the coast, what should i do instead? THANK you, I have 1 week to get it together :)

Don't blow out all your options. 1 year is awesome, but lets not go diamond rings and stuff. Don't start at the top of the mountain b/c you got no where to go but down. Try some 24K gold or silver. May be some nice earrings or necklace. Just make sure its personal and geniune. No gift cards.

Why don't you re-enact your first date you had with her. How about getting her a promise ring, I know its old fashion but women love the fact that her man is committed. Be creative, make her something that comes from the heart. You don't necessarily have to spend tons of money on a gift.

Does she have a favorite author? When me and an exgf were celebrating our 1 year together anniversary she really likes Emily Bronte so i got her a nice hard cover copy of 'Wurthing Heights' she liked it a lot. I'd suggest something along those lines.

Do you have a favorite song that you like to listen to? Or a favorite movie that you like to watch together? Maybe one of those would be a good gift. After one year, don't get too expensive of a gift. That could be pushing things too fast. It's important that she knows that you care, but that you aren't pushing too much.

Something memorable that when she sees it, she thinks of the ocean. Maybe a pair of pearl earrings or shelled necklace. If you don't make it, a simple gift that symbolises your humble begining with her should be fine. That's up to you.

How 'bout re-live your very first date. Do what you did then and try to retrace it as much to the original date. Peace and Love.
