yea if she likes to sew, but that may mean work for her, maybe think about something she can enjoy with out working.

WOW!!! That a good looking sewing machine. If your mom loves to sew, get for her it looks awsome she will LOVE it.
I wish my mom was still around she also liked to sew, she passed away 7 yrs, ago and I truly miss her, in fact today is her Birthday. September 18.
Hope you do get it for your mom.

i think that would be a great idea but you might want to check around locally to you and see if any places offer lessons on them.They have so much modern stuff on them now and if she only uses an older
one she might not be able to figure this one out.
