I have read that 10 out of 100 women will expell it it depends if your dr put it in properly and whether your body takes well to foreighn objects. The same thing happened to my sister 10 years ago tho and she was fine she went back to the pill

I used to have the mirena and this did not happen to me, but I have heard of it happening to others. Make sure that you use protection when having sex to avoid pregnancy. You will probably have some heavy bleeding for a couple of days, but you should not saturate more then one pad every two hours. If that is happening please go to the emergency room and don't use tampons until you see you gyn. Good luck

I recently got the mirena IUD and my doctor said he only heard about it coming out once...I would definitely wait for a call back and talk to your doctor. Good question! I was wondering myself if it was common.

After I had my first son in 2002 my dr gave me nuvaring (however you spel it) and that is exactly what happened to me. I had it in for about 3 days and the whole time I was throwing up, shakey, nervous, and started bleeding very heavily. Once when I went to the bathroom and was wiping I felt the ring and I didn't know what to do, so I just pushed it back in. My dr finally called me back and said to come in. When I went in he said that I was the only person to ever complain about it making them sick or it falling out. When he said that, he kinda looked at me like he thought I was lying. I got so mad and just told him to give the shot and that is the best birth control I have ever used, because I forget to take the pills every morning. I hope things get better for you.

i have no idea about having an iud in, but to me, that sounds like your body is DONE with having it in. This could be quite common, so I wouldnt worry about it.. but it's good to know it isnt in now, so use some other protection!

do you have any fever or flu like symptoms? You could also have an infection.. i hear they are more common to those with iud's in..

How long have you had it? I have had one for almost 2 months and my Dr said he has never had a patient have hers come out. This was one of my big concerns.
