if you have UNBEARABLE cramps, please see your doctor. Are you on the contraceptive pill? If so they can perhaps change it for something more suited to you.
Sorry it's not a home remedy, but those choices have already been given in other answers and clearly don't work for you....
If not, and I get unbearable cramps... I take Buscopan - you will need a prescription in the USA (I get them in the UK over the counter, sorry !). Buscopan (hyoscine is the generic drig name) is a smooth muscle relaxer good for the abdomen and they work wonders.
Advil or heating pads or tea don't work for me either, this leads me to think you are either unlucky like me, or there may be another cause like endometriosis or perhaps a twisted fallopian tube. This is worst case scenario, so don't panic, I'm just giving you the full information so you can decide if you shoudl go to your doctor or not.
If you can't go to your doctor for reasons of cost or whatever, you may be able to buy Buscopan online without a prescription. They're not illegal, and very common for people with period cramps.
Hope this helps :)

A heating pad or hot water bottle on your lower back will alleviate the cramps. Or get a bottle of naproxen sodium from the pharmacy. It is cheaper and just as effective as higher priced tablets for period pain.

As crazy as it sounds sex will help if your partner is willing. If not exercise helps alot, go for a walk or go swimming if you can, work those cramps away.I know the first answer sounds gross but you would be amazed how good sex is at this time.

Exercise works. Take a half hour walk. It eases the muscles. I do it every month, it works.
