she's going to find out sooner than later. i'd tell her but have some booster comments in tow - like "you deserve better"
"he's all wrong for you anyway" etc.
we all have to learn to deal with rejection, its one of life's lessons unfortunately. she'll grow stronger from this as long it is handled with tact.

She will find out and it will hurt her. You cannot protect her from that. What you can protect her from, however, is you being the one who tells her that. Of course, if she finds out that you knew and didn't tell her then she will be angry with you. You are in a tough spot.

tell her. if she finds out that you knew all along. she might hate you for that for keeping something like that from her. like what you said you don't want to hurt her. so tell her. and if you don't.
your the blame for it from keeping it from her. she'll hate you and stop being friends with you
