To me, the great striker is a good finisher and also has the ability to create something when given very little - not many guys foot both bills. Lots depend on the team and formation used too. Not that many players can play the 4-5-1.
I can't think of a more consummate striker than Henry. Shevchenko finishes well ('cept at the moment), but he generally doesn't do as much creating. Same goes for van Nistlerooy. If Drogba was a tad more consistent, he'd be up there.

There are 4 players I think that qualify for the best in the world right now: Shevchenko, Drogba, Henry, Eto'o
Shevchenko was bad asz when he was with AC Milan, but right now at Chelsea he is just average, but maybe that is because he is overshadowed by Drogba who has been playing with the club much longer and knows the players and how they play. Henry always finds a way to put the ball in the net, but so far for Arsenal he has only scored one pk and has been injured the rest of the time. Eto'o is just explosive and he doesnt have the scoring title in La Liga by luck, he is on fire.
Overall, if I had to pick the best strikers at THIS moment, I would pick Drogba and Eto'o. However, once Henry recovers from his injury and gets back in the groove of scoring I might have to replace him with one of these two.

Yes Henry definately.
But not Shevchenko.
He's been a total waste of money so far.
I think Arsenals other striker Adebayor will score
more the Shevchenko this season.

Certainly.
And in that order.
Coz Henry is God himself and Shevchenko is St Peter.

At this time, though it hurts me to say it, yes. In fact my top vote would go to Heny. Being an American Everton fan I must say that Andy Johnson could be in the running later in the season. We'll have to see what he can do against Chelsea and Man U first though.
