Am 23 living in the UK, four months ago I left my country to live with my fiancee. I suffer from a depression and am afraid that it can ruin my relationship. I get medical help and all, am just concerned about my future. I think that missing home is also a major factor plus I am very sensitive by nature. Just need someone to cheer me up.

Yes you will miss your family AND your country. Use TalkTalk's phone plan. Free broadband means you can email. They have free International calls to the USA (and other places) so I can ring my family anytime and talk for however long! I've saved loads of money by doing this.
But just keep taking your meds and look positive. Find someone who is over here that is where you are from. You will find a comfort in someone knowing "things" and the way things are done "back home" or even jokes that they just don't 'get' here. Homesickness is bound to happen but just look at your life and your fiance and how happy you are. You'll get through it.

Best of luck....*S*

Well the only thing I can think of is both you getting a web cam then that way you can not only speak to them when ever you want but you can see them also, you could get all your family to go to maybe your parents house and you can all interact. Good luck

it can affect relationships, but the effect is two-fold. either it will strengthen your relationship or break it down. one. you have the responsibility to tell your fiancee and family that you are depressed so as to prepare them and maybe they can help you. if he can handle your depression then your relationship is best for you. also, i hope that you recognize that part of the responsibility is for you to help him grow too.

i hope you both are growing with each other towards maturity and security...
