Your family wants to make sure he lives up to his manly responsibilities after the baby comes. Promises are just that - some are kept, and some are not. This way, if he decides to back out on his commitment to you and his child - there is already something legally binding in place to protect the child's best interest.
If the child is provided for, this will take the pressure off of you so you can continue through school, and make a better life for yourself.

Why childsupport, is he not w/u. Tell ur family to lay off and to support u while u need it. In the mean time if ur gonna stay w/this boy (if hes worth staying with) Make all the arraingments and go live w/him (dont leave school). U need to talk w/ur family about that w/ur boyfriend there with u. Once u mention that ur doing this for the good of a father image and a complete family for ur baby they will understand. Good luck

Well i think that you and him should take care of this problem not your parents if he said he was going to help you out then he will. Maybe your parents are worried that he won't help you they are just concern about you. And if he ever leaves you you don't need no man to help you take care of your child no man we are woman and we can do it to so don't worried about it. Just be happy that really soon you will be a mommy and just enjoy being pregnant. Good Luck

well hunny its your baby your life you have control unless you are a minor still at home ? but what i would do is this .. if i was pregnant with my bfs baby i would not pursue childsupport unless i thought we wouldnt be together after the child was born. but if you guys end up not being together then yes i definetley would file for child support . he is just as much responsible as you are .. good luck hun and may god bless you..

Putting him up for child support usually happens when the guy doesn't take care of his responsibilities doesn't it?

You have not said how old you are, or your financial or educational background. Your community is likely to have a community mental health center that provides counseling and advice. Someone needs much more information before they can provide you with education and guidance.
