no i think they are usefull and if there was ever a murder then it could be helpful

I think that they are not intended to be however in the hands of the wrong person anything can become a menace.

No, it is great for taking pictures of evidence and so on. People don't always carry a camera wherever they go, but they do carry their cell phone.

I would say no. Many hit and run cases were solved with it. Also women who've been attacked have also been able to identify thier assailants.
