I used to go out every weekend with my girlfriends, but now that Iam pregnant I have no motivation to do anything. My boyfriend on the other hand keeps going out every weekend. I feel fat and miserable, and I hate that he can go out and have fun and i cant. Is there something wrong with me for wanting him to stay home with me? Im i being selfish?

No, you are not being selfish. If he got you that way then he should keep you company sometimes. Maybe not all of the time but some. Also you can still go out and have a good time. I think that pregnant women have a certain happy glow about them that is attractive.

I don't think so. Well, it wouldn't kill him to stay home most of those nights with you. You two probably still have a lot of stuff to discuss about the baby. Tell him how you feel. I don't understand why you two go out separately every weekend anyhow. Does he plan on still going on every weekend after the baby is born and leaving you home alone to care for the baby by yourself? It sounds like he is the one being selfish. He should already be staying home and taking care of you. Does he not realize that these are the last times you two will be alone without the baby. If he needs to see his friends so bad, have him invite them over. Good luck to you.

Is he making you feel like you are being selfish and unreasonable? If so, then you have every right to feel the way that you do. Sounds like your boyfriend is too immature to realize that when you have a child, your needs come second to the child.

Granted, you haven't given birth yet - but this includes being there to emotionally support the mom-to-be. By abandoning you and doing his own thing, that says he isn't ready for the responsibility of being a dad.

Pregnancy is a tough thing to go through alone - there are so many physical changes, and emotional ups and downs. If he isn't there for you when you need him now - then perhaps you should prepare for life as a single mom.

If this is the boyfriend who got you pregnant than I think he needs to take some time off from his friends and help you out with your child, so I don't think it's selfish to feel that way.
However, if this is a boyfriend who is not the father of your child, he really does not have any obligation to your child and can do whatever he wants... but your feelings are understandable. Having a child forces you to grow up and you end up making sacrifices to take care of your child.
Have you talked to him and told him that it would be nice for him to stay at home with you every now and then? If he doesn't want to, maybe it is time to move on.

Nothing wrong with it. #1 your hormones are going bazerk right now, so you'll have a lot of paranoya and sadness. If your boyfriend is 27 or younger, it is normal that he still wants to go out. But it is also, normal for you to want him to stay with you. Compromise and have certain days when he is home with you and a certain day of the week he goes out. Let him get it out. Becasue when that baby comes it's all over for him. He needs to be there all the time accept when he works. Find a hobby like sewing, paint by numbers, or even crossword puzzles. Something to keep your mind off him when he is out. Sounds like you have a lot of time on your hands. Watch out for Jealousy...it will pop out of no where when you are pregnant and when you have the baby. Hope he's there when you go into labor. My hubby wasn't and I had to call a cab. He's a home body now, but when he was young and I was pregnant...he was out all the time.

If you want him not to go out because you can't then yes, you're being a little selfish, but on the other hand, if you're not feeling so good, he should be trying to be a little considerate and stay home with you once in a while.
It might be good for you two to get learn each other better and make plans for the baby.

This is why people should be married before having a baby. A husband would understand how you feel, or if he didn't you could make his life miserable. Just kidding! No your not being selfish , your pregnant. And he should be more supportive and understanding.

You both are being a bit selfish. You cannot spend every moment together, nor should you try. BUT you should have an evening or two just for each other. After baby comes it will be hard to achieve but very necessary. Peace.

He should be more thoughtful. How about something you can do together? See a movie, go out for a meal, things like that. He obviously still has to see his friends but it sounds like he needs a big dose of reality because things will really have to change when the baby is born or the relationship won't last.

He should limit his time with friends to be home with you. I wouldnt say he should totaly NOT have fun if you had fun before being pregnant. Its part of being a mom. Im 35 weeks pregnant and my b/f does alot. I just suck it up and say to my self "once this baby is born" He will be the one at home with the baby while I make up for lost time!
