When I was a kid I wanted to be a knight but was always told, "Little girls can't be knights, they can be a princess or a queen, but never a knight" To me knights were awesome; they stood for all the right things, were chivalrous and had honor. I couldn't figure out why I couldn't be one, my naivety prohibited me from knowing about what girls 'could do' and 'couldn’t do' .
Alas, I am not a knight. I sling ink for a living but for two weeks out of the year I don some chain mail and grab a sword and make my way to the SCA.

Firstly i wanted to be a lawyer. Then I had a complete turnaround when i was about 15 and wanted to be a stay at home mum, then I changed yet again at the age of 17 and wanted to be a forensic pathologist. Needless to say i am none of those I have mentioned and am working in admin as an office manager.

When I was little I wanted to be a superhero (specifically Rogue from the X-Men).
Now I am a over-qualified office worker (who should be working at the moment but is skiving about here!).
I no longer want to be an X-Man, but I wouldn't mind being a pirate, yarr!

LOL---When I was a child, all I wanted was to be grown up. There were entirely too many people trying to tell me what to do, what not to do, what to wear, how to act, where to go, where NOT to go....all sorts of stuff. I really hated the phrase "you're too pretty a girl to do that". I just wanted to be grown up so I could control my own life.
I made it! Now I can act as grown up or as childish as I want, and NOBODY tries to stop me......Ain't it COOL!

I wanted to be an archaeologist and work in Egypt. Now my partner and I run a building company. We have a mini digger but that is the closest I come these days to excavating anything.

I always wanted to be a gymnast! I was a cashier at a race track, CNA at a hospital, waitress at a gentlemen's club, and now I'm an assistant accountant and a student...

I used to go to the railway bridge with my grandpa and watch the steam trains, and I wanted to be a train driver. However, I trained in telecoms after school and now work in the management of mobile phone networks. I still have to realise the ambition of driving that steam engine :-)

You've asked this question before...but hey, I've answered it before.
I wanted to be a librarian or a writer. I am now an unemployed translator who tutors English to make ends meet.
