It seems that this QB is just not at the NFL level. There have been so many excuses for his poor playing abilities. The man is clearly nervous on every play of the game. I think it is time to do what's right for the city and what's right for the team.

The problem clearly starts with Carr. Although there is room for improvement at every position, his is the most vital.

I never thought David Carr was a good QB. I just think he never matured. And he's heading toward the downside of his career. But the QB position is not the only problem on this team. The whole organization SUCKS! I like Bob McNair, but he really needs to shake things up with that front office. How in the world do you pass up on Reggie Bush or Vince Young? Hmmm, let's see, they drafted Mario Williams so that they can stop Peyton Manning and the Indianapolis Colts! That didn't work yesterday!!! I mean why are they even worried about the Colts, they won 2 FREAKIN GAMES LAST YEAR. It's not like they missed the Superbowl by one game against the Colts.
UNBELIEVABLE!!!!!!!

No, you'd be nervous too playing behind that joke of an offensive line. David Carr has done fairly well given what he has to work with. The Texans should not have taken Bush or Williams with the draft pick. They should have traded it for as many quality offensive lineman they could get. Kubiak will start to turn that team around but they need some help up front.

David Carr has his problems, but the biggest one, his oline, is out of his control. Also, keep in mind he has played his whole career in a very poor enviroment and has doubtless developed some bad habits because of it. It's simply part of the risk of throwing a QB to the wolves, especially in an enviroment like the Texans have been since day one. So, not only does he need to be broken of those bad habits, he needs a better oline.
If they DO cut him, and he ends up on an otherwise good team in need of a QB, watch out. You'll probably see why he was picled #1 overall.
And judging by the state of their oline, they ought to have traded down on the cheap and snatched up D'Brickshaw...

They need a better line, and they should've drafted Reggie Bush instead of Mario Williams. Team owner Bob Mcnair was quoted as saying "The sole reason we drafted Mario was to get more pressure on opposing QB's, namely Peyton Manning." Well, Mario Williams-zero sacks, Peyton Manning-400 passing yards. Hopefully Williams will develop into a sack machine, but I wouldn't count on it.

I think he's got potential; he just needs a better, more consistent O-line. He's probably been sacked more than any other quarterback in the past three years or so, and I can see how that can get into his head. Once he gets a consistent line and can actually be comfortable in the pocket (or actually have a pocket at all for that matter), then I think he will start putting up numbers.

You'd be nervous too if you had no protection. Why get a new QB if you aren't going to get a GOOD O-Line to protect that guy? They aren't going to get better with a new QB if they don't have any protection. Personally I thought they needed someone like Vince Young out of this draft. They need a QB who can run if they aren't going to give him protection.

David Carr has been doing great. 4 TDs no ints, 75% of his passes have been completed, Qb rating of over 120! If Houston gets rid of him, please send him to Washington we'd love to have him.

They have so much invested in him that they will most likely never get rid of him. Much like Harrington in Detroit, they believe in him. But, with a new head coach and revamped offense, he will certainly have to step up.
