There is no problem in fly traveling at 28 weeks. The restrictions are for pg women in a more advanced state. She will have to get up her seat every couple of hours to walk in the aisle (sh'ell probably have to do that either way bc she'll need to go pee) because when you stay seated for a long period of time it may cause some circulatory problems. As long as she gets up and walks it's fine. Also, she may want to talk to her OB for other recommendations, and to have the dr write a medical note saying that she's in good condition for flying, some airlines ask for a dr notice before boarding the plane. Good luck on your new life and congratulations on your new bundle of joy!

Well most airlines will let pregnant passengers travel up until the 33rd week with a doctor's certificate. This is for single, uncomplicated pregnancies. It is safe but what I will say is that it's VERY uncomfortable. I travelled at 29 weeks from the States to London whcih was a 13 hour flight in total and then onward with another 9.5 hours flight time. All I can say is that I will NEVER do it again!! Before flying I was fine, having a great pregnancy, no swelling, no back ache and so on. After flying I had every possible pain. I swelled up to twice my size and even after returning and being back for a while I didn't return to what I was like before. I don't want to frighten you but all I can say is that if you have to travel now and not after the baby has been born, break up the flight as much as you can. Stop and take long layovers where your wife can rest and put her feet up. Make sure she stays hydrated and is not cramped on the plane, walking as much as she can. I hope that you have a safe journey and that your wife is somewhat comfortable...I feel for her!!!

Make sure she gets up and walks a lot!!!! More for her comfort than the babies Lots of fluids. As long as you get the doctors "ok" it's fine. But you need to make sure she gets up and walks during the flights so she dosent swell to much. Try to get a seat in the front row so she has some room to stretch her legs.

Most likely she will be fine, she needs to speak with her doctor about flying, in most cases you can't fly after 35 weeks. Don't forget to take plenty of snacks and food for her!

That is a lot of flying but I think she is safe to fly up to 35 weeks. Unfortunately you can't dose her up on anti-aniety drugs before the flight because of her pregnancy (My wife has flight anxiety, took Zanax for DC-Vienna-Singapore-Melbourne but she wasn't pregnant).
Good luck

Have her ask her doctor about it. It may be ok, but some airlines may not allow her tofly wihtout written consent from her doc & some not at all.
