are there any factory outlet shoppings and would Sunshine coast be worth the trip there as i heard it is about 06 hrs to drive there and back?thanks!

As people have already said - Harbour Town on Brisbane Road in Labrador is a great cheap shopping complex, you can also try DFS up near Brisbane Airport.
I strongly recommend a trip to the Gold Coast Hinterland while you're here - it is truly beautiful and you can visit some of the oldest rainforests in the world for a bush walk. There are also a lot of Winereis tucked away in the Hinterland that are worth a visit - Canungra Valley Vineyard springs to mind. On the same route is Mount Tamborine, a quaint little bohemian village, and a nice change from the glitter strip of the coast line.
Don't swim in the canals, they are riddled with bull sharks (I know - I caught a 1.5m beauty), enjoy all the beaches have to offer but always swim between the flags and you can't go wrong.
PS - Sunshine Coast definitely worth a trip too

Well, there is a lot of little shops around Gold Coast, especially around Surfer's Paradise. However the price are a little steep. There is also a casino if you but if you not the gambler, try Gold Coast's active nightlife. Lots of clubs and pubs are open till the wee hours of the morning. Besides that if you like musicals, check out if Conrade Jupiter are showing out...prices are reasonable and it is very entertaining. You can also try you hand in golf. Heard golf is cheap over in Australia.
However, if you looking for a nice quiet trip...my bet is Sunshine Coast. There is an aquatic centre for all ages. Shopping outlets might not be as abundant as Gold Coast tough. Unless you like fishing and the great outdoors( the sandy white beaches are fantastic tough)..Gold Coast is much more interesting.

yeh harbour town is full of outlet stores plus restartunts. um pacific fair one of the largest shopping centres in northern hemaphier, um also australia fair is pretty good, sunshine coast has all the beautilful beaches aswell plus the Australia zoo is there in beerwah.There is the billabong factory here somewhere on the gold coast aswell.Here is a site for qld tourist stuff its got heaps of great stuff might be a help for yah. http://www.queensland-holidays.com.au/ have fun

harbor town is a cheap place to shop.
i think it's cheaper than all the tourist places near the beach.
take surfing lessons. it was great.
i have not been to sunshine coast. we skipped that one.

A must do when you are there ... visit the glow worms !!! Only three places in the world have them and the goldcoast is the one with all the colors.
You definately wont regret it!
