my mazda is a1999 model. in good shape. but the alternator gave up on me last saturday.

it is much easier going to a mazda website and finding the service telephone number for the closest dealer. give them a call and get a price. cheers.

You figure that on most shops they charge $60 the hour and they will charge you for two hours so $120, my question to you is how come you don't replace it yourself? it is a very easy thing to do two big bolts and a tensioner that is all. Not counting the sense of achivement when you fix it. Give it a try and Good Luck!

Depends on the mechanic and exactly what needs to be done in order to fix it as well as the cost of parts. Check with several repair shops for estimates and ask for references. Some are better than others.
