I have been trying to put it on my upper eyelids, and it just looks ugly - like a line higher than it is supoosed to me. I just can't get it right there practically on the line so it doesn't look like something I drew but moe natural. Any tricks on where and how to apply it?

Put your finger on the corner of the outside of your eye and pull so your eye is almost closed, then right by your eyelashes put a really thin line on, and it will look thicker when your eye is normal. I dont like eyeliner on the top because it makes your eye way too dark, so just do a little line!! :)

A really good trick is to close your eye and lightly pull on the corner to stretch your eyelid. It gives you a flatter surface to work with. Then angle your eyeliner downward resting your hand on your face to provide more stability. I like to start from the inside corner out but some people find it easier to go from the outside in, find out what works for you. Also don't use liquid eyeliner it's ridiculously hard to get a nice even line if you haven't had lots of practice, look for a soft stick liner (they don't tug at your skin giving you a dotted line look) skinnier for more precision, thicker for ease in applying. Another good trick is to blast your eyeliner pencil with your blow dryer for a second to help soften it so that it eases on more smoothly.

It is hard and you're going to have to practice. A lot of people here have the right idea; hold the outer corner of your eye taut and draw in the line as close to your lashes as possible. Personally, it's worth the hassle to learn to use a liquid eyeliner correctly because they give the thinnest line.

It depends on your eye shape, and you'll need to experiment with it more. You need to keep it as close to your lash-line as possible, and use some dark eye shadow to "smudge" the line a little bit after using your eyeliner to make it more natural. Could flick the end up a little but to make that "cat-eye" look :)

Point the pen down and draw on your lashes, don't hold it horizontally. Also try to sharpen the tip so it won't be blunt and clumsy. You can also try stretching the eyelid to the side or up by pushing on your eyebrows to make the area more accesible to your pencil.

Good luck.

try slightly pulling the outer corner of your eyes and drawing the line as close to your lashes as possible.
