Rush, in 1982 was my first concert I believe, and Ted Nugent in 2006 was my last. Before the Nugent concert we were eating at a bar across the street from the venue, and in walks this guy in a leather jacket with huge frizzy hair. I couldn't see his face, and my wife remarked "who does he think he is, Robert Plant?". But as soon as he turned around I let her know that no, that isn't R.P., it's Tommy Aldridge, the drummer for Nugent , Ozzy, and Black Oak Arkasa. Got to say hi to him, and he is pretty cool. He had come over to get a cup of coffee no less. As a drummer myself, it was great to get to meet him.

My first live concert was the Smashing Pumpkins, back in the early 90's. It was a great show!
My most recent was Muse, which I went to about a month ago. That was a lot of fun. It was a standing room only venue, so we were all packed together like sardines. I was really close to the stage, and Muse's performance was so good, it took my breath away. I counted about 10 people pass out from the heat, and by the time the concert ended, everyone was completely soaked with sweat. It was awesomely disgusting. Fun times!!

Dude, that most recent concert I was in was SO messed up. I get onstage for soundcheck, and I play something on the keyboard, and I just BARELY hear it. I turn up the amp and keyboard levels, and try again. I was blasting the audience, but I couldnt hear myself at all. I look at the amp, and there is NOTHING plugged into it. It was sitting onstage at 10, making alot of hiss. it turns out the "sound guy" ran the line direct from the keyboards to the PA. WTF?? He thought the speakers built into the keyboard would be loud enough to compete with 4 guitars, bass, singer, and two drumsets. WRONG. I also had some FX pedals that I needed to hear in the amp, but NOO. Finally, I managed to explain to this guy (seemed like he had never run a soundboard before) that I needed the amp. So, he brilliantly runs a line to the amp too. But I needed the FX which ran through the line, so I had to plug the FX pedal into only the PA, and I didnt hear them onstage. NOT my best concert ever.

My first concert is quite embarrassing. I saw Ricky Martin and to make things even worse, Jessica Simpson opened for him. I recall a lot of people jeering her because they rather would have seen Ricky. It was on Halloween so there were a lot of people dressed up. One guy behind us was Austin Powers and I found that groovy. That was either five or six years ago. Isn't it funny where the two of them are now?
Luckily I have been going to better concerts. This year I saw Depeche Mode. Lots of people with eyeliner. Lots of smoking. Three encores and a half naked frontman.

My best concert was in the summer of 2000, and it was the Summer Sanitarium Tour featuring Metallica, Korn, Kid Rock, Powerman 5000 and System of a Down.
System and Powerman rocked, but KId Rock sucked. Korn was great, but my friends and I were watching a 50-something year old woman doing a striptease on top of a port-o-potty. While we were waiting for Metallica, girls were flashing their boobs to the crowd. This fat chick got on a guy's shoulders and flashed the crowd to our digust. A water bottle came flying and hit her in the head. Then Metallica came on and rocked the place!

The Who, Toronto, in 1988. I was 14. The most recent was Gordon Lightfoot at Wolftrap this summer. The best... Maybe Phish at Keene in 1992 or perhaps the Beasties at MSG in 1994.

AMY Grant was first, then Roxette, and Bryan Adams. That was in the early 90's and late 80's. Lyle Lovett was my most recent and that was in April.
